MY MISSION

To help you choose the best tools for your laboratory and experimental work

I am a biochemist and life science entrepreneur with more than 26 year of experience spanning academic research, biotechnology start-ups, scientific instrumentation, technical support and laboratory product distribution.

I completed a PhD in biochemistry, working initially in protein engineering and subsequently investigating fundamental aspects of enzyme catalysis and electron transfer.

Subsequently I moved into the biotechnology industry, working with Molecular Probes and later as part of Invitrogen/Life Technologies. My career has also included roles with the biotechnology companies Exiqon in Denmark, FEBIT in Germany and Samplix in Denmark. I have also co-founded Methyl Detect and served as its CEO during its first year of operation.

My work has always combined scientific and commercial responsibilities, including tech support, product training, customer education and instrument installation. I have delivered numerous technical and product training sessions to laboratory scientists.

In 2008, I founded You Do Bio in Copenhagen, supplying specialised technologies and reagents to life science laboratories. Through You Do Bio, I have represented more than 18 laboratory technology companies and worked directly with hundreds of researchers, clinicians and laboratory managers across areas including molecular biology, genomics, purification,isothermal amplification, and bioprocessing.

I see it as my job to provide the advice and recommendations that ensure that you succeed in improving your scientific results. I’m a one-man company, so you get to deal directly with me, Peter Roberts: the owner of You Do Bio. It’s me picking up the phone and answering your questions (you can call me Pete). I believe in doing everything I can to help you get the right tools to move your research forward.

…but obviously, I cannot do this alone.

Thus, my working model with You Do Bio’s is to make sure that you are connected to the many small and medium-sized creators of laboratory technology that exist around the world. Most lab technology suppliers consist of scientists – just like you – who are working to provide unique high-quality products that move research forward.
